 A Level of Training to Suit Any Professional Goal
With sensitivity to the various levels of practical experience and formal implant education of clinicians, The Zimmer InstituteTM has developed four distinct programs––with varying degrees of intensity and time commitment.
Level 1
Level 1 instruction is training that occurs outside of and prior to coming to The Zimmer Institute Simulated Patient Lab. Examples of Level 1 instruction might include pre-doctoral implant education programs offered in dental schools, general CE courses on implant dentistry, implant fellowship programs, and AEGD and GPR residency programs.
 Level 2
Level 2 instruction involves intensive simulated patient training in various aspects of implant dentistry and will be held at The Zimmer Institute facility. Level 2 courses are generally 4-5 days in length and may be taken at either a basic or advanced level, depending on the participant’s prior training and experience. Classes may be comprehensive (providing training in both surgery and prosthetics), or discipline-specific (focusing on either surgery or prosthetics). Level 2 courses may also offer a component on Practice Management.
Level 3
Level 3 instruction is a mentoring program, led by an experienced clinician who provides one-on-one instruction and helps guide the practitioner through actual patient care. This instruction may be held at any of the following locations: the practitioner’s office, an affiliated university clinic in the U.S., or at an approved clinical facility outside of the U.S. In order to qualify for the Level 3 mentoring program, a participant must have completed a Level 2 course in The Zimmer Institute Simulated Patient Lab.
Level 4
Level 4 instruction is a study club of The Zimmer Institute and is composed of practitioners who have completed a Level 2 course at The Zimmer Institute facility. Study clubs are regional and will meet at regularly scheduled times.
